Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery employed to remove excess fat from the body. He also called lipoplasty, suction lipectomy, liposculpture or fat suction.

Generally, fat is removed from thighs, chin, buttocks, lovehandles (abdomen), breasts and abdomen of women and chin, waist, chest and buttocks for men.

This operation is not a substitute for exercise and diet and should only be used to remove stubborn fat that does not respond to diet and exercise.

If general anesthesia is given to the patient quickly the night before surgery. If you are given a local anesthetic does not require fasting. Smoking and drinking, etc. should be avoided.

Incisions are usually less than one inch. After surgery, the excess fluid takes days to weeks, to drain out. During that time, antibiotics and / or painkillers are prescribed.
